Today sees the end of week one of the “Run 100K in September for CHAS” challenge. It’s been a tough week taking only one day off from running. And that’s something I’ve never done before.
So where are we at the end of the first week? Well we’re 22.35K into the 100. 77.65K to go. Not much when you say it quickly.
To be honest I’m happy with where I am. Now you might think that after one quarter of the month I should be one quarter of the way along. But no. I’ve started slowly and intend to build distance each week. This week I was aiming to do about 3K a day with the Parkrun on Saturday being the “big run” day. I’ve done that and taken a day off to rest so I’m sitting pretty.
Next week, from tomorrow that is, I’ll be aiming to do between 3.5 – 4K daily so should get a bigger chunk of the total distance covered. I still intend to take at least one day off next week and still should be well on target.
So now the important bit. While yes I’m doing this to prove to myself I can, the major part of the challenge is to raise money for CHAS and that’s where you lovely people come in. If you could be so kind as to donate here I would be eternally (well maybe for about a month or so) grateful. Now I know not everyone is on Facebook so if you’re not on Facebook but would still like to donate, let me know and we’ll work something out. Thank you in anticipation.
