And just like that we reached Maggies Aberdeen last night.
Maggie’s Aberdeen was built in 2013. It is a white building in the shape of a pebble or shell and offers warmth and a feeling of safety and protection to all its visitors.
Both the building and landscape were designed by Snøhetta, and the overarching plan was to create a design that was both welcoming and inspirational.
People have said they feel safe when they walk into the centre and, despite the height of the ceiling, the architects have created a space that feels calming and peaceful. Perfect for the delivery of our cancer support.
That’s 165km already. A third of the way round our trip and we’ve collected a third of our sponsorship target. It’s looking good but we still need more support so here’s the link again https://www.justgiving.com/team/Janetsjoggers
So now we travel south with the North Sea to our left hand side all the way down. 114km on this stretch of the challenge so hopefully we’ll be there by next Friday and ready to start the stroll through the beautiful Kingdom of Fife to Kirkcaldy.
